Hello and welcome to the McAfee test!
McAfee is an American company, well known in the world of computer security.
It was founded by John McAfee, then bought by Intel in 2010 and sold to TPG in 2016.
Once very inefficient, McAfee has evolved over time and returns in 2021 with a new suite much stronger!
So, in protection, yes McAfee is solid. However, the Webadvisor suffers from a big bug, the files are downloaded despite the blocking of the website.
In terms of behavioral blocking, McAfee comes out on top thanks to the JTI and Real-Time detections.
However, at the end of the test, the presence of the Sivis virus is detected by Hitman Pro in an infected EEK file. It could not do any further damage, but its presence is noted all the same!
Regarding the power consumption, even if McAfee has made a big effort, it tends to consume too much, some impacts have been felt during the test, but not very disturbing.
McAfee is recommendable.
