It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

I will have to test them side by side, but due to both of them using real time analysis, I would expect similar results on phishing. When it comes to malware downloads, I would expect better performance from McAfee due to more users, more telemetry, more innovation…. Everything at McAfee is just MORE than Webroot.

Except for price. As of now (it might change) I can purchase a McAfee multi seat lic from a legit store at a fraction of a price of Webroot (per seat price).

I’ve seen cheap licenses for Webroot as well. The McAfee Anti-Phishing analysis in consumer products is similar to Check Point Zero Phishing.

Oooh and I bet at a fraction of resource usage.
Zero Phishing is on the cloud, CP submits the full URL which is opened on the cloud and analysed with models based on deep learning. McAfee performs local and cloud analysis. Nevertheless, no one seems to have experienced any major slowdowns.

I went to watch the full video after the original post date (my bad) and firefox says

Yeah, the channel was reported for SPAM and SCAM. Only MalwareTips users (with a link) could see the video.

I guess someone got butthurt.

I am 95% open minded and willing to change my opinion on things. Sure.McAfee sucked decades ago but the only thing that's similar between today's McAfee and the McAfee of yesteryear is the cursed name.

That being said I used to highly dislike webroot but I can see that they are attempting to slowly claw their way back (Yara rules etc). So I am willing to give it a spin in a year or two.

The 5% that will take a LOT of convincing in order to change my mind is COMODO because @&$_ Melih
