Changes/improvements:

• Some tweaks to volume normalization algorithm.
• Adjusted clipping behavior for floating point audio when using volume boost. Should fix quality issues in some cases.
• Added warning prompt to boost that informs users about a better solution for the common issue of "voices are too quiet", which is to enable mixing in the audio decoder (and adjust center mix level).
• Improved support of .cue files that contain links to multiple audio files.

Fixes:

• Fixed a dragging issue with the exclusive mode seekbar.
• Several other small fixes and improvements.

Black; it uses less cpu while playing the same file using the same renderer compared to classic.
Also, I can hide all execpt the seek bar; when I try to do the same in classic, I get glitches.

You helped me choose which software to keep on my device, anything is acceptable on the media player, but not glitches.

PotPlayer is a third good option; however, it uses cpu more than both, and MPC with shaders and MPC renderer yields proportinally better quality compared to Potplayer with D3D11.
And all the three are blocked by MS app control, unless excluded (the only exclusion I have made in the policy, even the Chinese programs are allowed).

I have tried the new look of MPC-HC; cpu/ram-wise still higher than BE by a narrow margin, but the new UI is much better with fixed previous quirks.

I have tried the new look of MPC-HC; cpu/ram-wise still higher than BE by a narrow margin, but the new UI is much better with fixed previous quirks.

I also like the new UI, it has a native dark theme (even the settings are dark) compared to MPC-BE, and MPC-HC has a new icon theme that will only be installed if you enable file association, which is more modern.

MPC-HC has an issue with audio; the background sounds are louder than usual, while voice of actors is the reverse.
This happens even without using normalization or boosting of sound in settings.

In MPC-BE and PotPlayer, this issue does not exist.

It's good to know that. I've noticed other issues with MPC-HC that work fine in MPC-BE. For example, it doesn't play .pls files, and when you increase the bitrate to 2x, the sound becomes very strange, not just fast.

The developer isn't listening to user feedback and has said he won't be adding new features, recommending installing the K-Lite Codec Pack instead.
