But can you explain the Applocker release lol? Microsoft have done the security fix for it, but it's not like most people know about it!

Microsoft can develop the best security suite if they didn't have partners that was in the same business which is a conflict of interest.

Remember awhile back when Microsoft announced that Windows 8 would include its own AV, SmartScreen and optimized UAC?

All of the third-party security software vendors could hardly wait to start bashing it before it was even released and accusing Microsoft of trying to run a monopoly in the PC security business, even Microsoft's own business partners.

So Microsoft gently backed off from adding other security features to satisfy their partners. Microsoft even sit back and kept quite when third-party security software vendors and AV testing sites bashed their default security features in Windows 8 because they wanted to keep their partners at check.

Microsoft knows Windows better than anyone else and could make the best possible security suite but that would destroy the PC security market and cause many companies to go out of business, a lot of lost employment in the workforce and loose most of their business partners which help them get to where they are now. Microsoft would become a monopoly which would not be good for anyone. It would get to the point where users would have no options when choosing security software since all of the other companies would no longer be in business, you would have to use Microsoft. Because it is not going to happen. Microsoft maybe a large company but it has it has tied just like many other large companies do.

Enjoy!! :D

You also forgot about the Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) layered security approach hahaha

:)

I really like the security side including legal Hacking!

The security market is already destroyed, because of Windows 7 Applocker was released yay!

Now I have a choice to use Antivirus or not?

Applocker is very complicated for most users only a very small percentage would even use it, Microsoft just keep it updated to please those few users and to use in business environments controlled by a central Admin. Most home users would not benefit from using it since a non-admin account would offer better security.

Enjoy!! :D

Applocker can only block stuff 100%, but you have to still have the Antivirus to clean the dirt off! The Spyware already downloaded and stuck on your PC somewhere?

Even if Microsoft decided their partners were not important enough to keep happy, the same problem would exist that has been around through every version of windows. The problem i speak of, is that it is on the majority of systems world wide, and therefore a rather large target for those that wish to exploit and consume profit. Just as fast as Microsoft can patch vulnerabilities, there are those out there finding another way to exploit. Security patches/service packs have run wild in every version of windows because of.

So even if they did make a complete security program for windows, it would not be bullet proof, just as no other solutions are. Matter of fact, it would make things a little easier on those wishing to exploit, if they only had to focus on one general program to bypass with the OS, if it was to become a monopoly as stated above.

You are wrong Microsoft Technet says, To fully understand the power of AppLocker, think about the basics of maintaining system security. Malware is a constant threat. Whether it infects your systems through an Internet browser or is pushed via a worm-style attack, it sometimes overwhelms even the best firewalls and anti-malware engines. Further, even with a layered approach to security in your environment, the combination of these tools can never be prepared for that dreaded zero-day attack.

Make sure you read the whole thing and you should see this!

The answer: Absolutely. And the solution for that problem is AppLocker.

Heres your prove:

If you block the Application? You block the code! And if you do that? You block the Zer0-day threat!

This part was very funny!

There’s a long-standing saying in our industry that nothing is a panacea. Defined as a “remedy for all diseases, evils or difficulties,” the oft-offered but neverrealized panacea would represent the IT solution to end all solutions.

It's conventional wisdom that no single product can ever fully offer you that one-stop fix for all your problems, no matter how hard that product's salespeople might try to convince you otherwise. Yet in exploring the new AppLocker functionality in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, I have to wonder whether Microsoft has gotten close.

The "Heart Bleed" is the only scary thing now, but the security fix is also out there and updates are applied to main Servers now I read about! It just reminds me of a buffer overflow exploit but on SSL lol.
