Serious Discussion Minimal Firewall

No, I do not have to.
1. run Installer
2. Installer runs sub-process from the %TEMP% dir with unique name
3. sub-process tries to connect, but auto-blocks
4. firewall shows a popup about blocked conn
5. Installer shows error about no connection
6. you can only close the Installer
7. goto 1.

No, I allow the installer through the popup, and then reinstall.
That is why not using fort firewall, it lacks this allow/block popup, while rivals such as simplewall and Windows firewall control have.
No one is going to choose program which makes its daily use harder, unless he/she is a tester.

Ugh.. The installer will change its sub-process name on reinstall. Popup will appear for new installer!
No, this does not happen.

Just add the "real" interactive mode, which is greyed in settings for years, and you will gain a wide user base, including me, and who knows, may be your product get purchased by a major vendor.

I mean maybe my point is ridiculous but couldn’t this also be construed as a good thing security wise in some situations? I mean i am not sure ifur criticizing this aspect of simple wall or just pointing it out…

Don't stray from the topic "Minimal Firewall." Don't forget that, or else the moderator will show up here in a minute. (y)

It was responding to tnodir statements; did not start this argument.
I would spend my spare time improving my product by fixing bugs and adding useful features, instead of criticizing the competitors.

Okay, I understand, but you can warn them yourself if you notice that they are straying too far from the topic, because this one has already strayed from the other topic because of that. Remember, I had to take responsibility for it. If not, the moderator will close it. I understand your frustration with the firewall being too strict. From what I understand, @tnodir, if I'm not mistaken, is a developer for Minimal Firewall or Portmaster?

Well if anyone can answer this: minimal firewall will function with kaspersky antivrus’s firewall enabled? Because simplewall can function with kaspersky firewall enabled - I ask because if I remember correctly, Kasperski disabled windows firewall?? If so would minimal firewall be able to run alongside of it?

I am not a moderator; not authorized to warn members.
In addition, I get knowledge through the discussion, regardless being convinced with statements or not.

As far as I know, tnodir is the developer of Fort firewall, which I was using a while ago; I have no data about being developer of Minimal firewall or PortMaster.

Yes, it can work with Kaspersky free edition; I do not know about compatibility with other versions of K.

Thanks @Parkinsond to be sure u kept kaspersky’s firewall enable in free edition when testing minimal firewall right?
Free version of Kaspersky has no firewall, only network attack protection, so you can use whichever firewall you like alongside, including fort firewall, simplewall, Windows firewall control, Symantec endpoint protection firewall, and of couse, Windows built-in firewall, which I do not recommend.

but I do not know if they have co-developers, so did not deny or affirm regarding tnodir
About tnodir and Fort Firewall on his Github webpage are listed some contributors but I don't know if/how they currently contribute to the project GitHub - tnodir/fort: Fort Firewall for Windows . I can say that Fort Firewall is a well established project, the first release dates back to March 2019 and tnodir actively updates it. About deminimis and Minimal Firewall on his GitHub webpage there aren't other contributors GitHub - deminimis/minimalfirewall: Minimal Firewall is a portable Windows firewall frontend that alerts users to internet connections without requiring custom kernel modifications or disabling core isolation, striking a balance between Window Defender's security and SimpleWall's functionality. . It's a new project as the first release dates 3 days ago. About Safing ICS and Portmaster, in addition to the official website Safing Portmaster - Easy Privacy they also have a webpage on GitHub GitHub - safing/portmaster: 🏔 Love Freedom - ❌ Block Mass Surveillance They are organized like a software company and I used their product some time ago (if I remember correctly at that time it was free of charge and there weren't different pricing plans like nowadays) but I uninstalled it because it was rather heavy in resources.
