- Did move from edge to firefox, ditched osprey and apivoid script stop. Replaced those with Firefox + ublock + apivoid browser protection

So i have microsoft defender with defenderui recommended profile, except the cloud block rule is set to zero trust.

I was looking for appcheck from checkmall & malwarebytes anti-exploit alternative, is hitmanpro alert worth it? One can get it for 15 eur / year

Or do you think im fine just with current setup, i know im fine, but id like to try something new

edit: i would buy cyberlock but i dont have credit card with online banking so i dont have paypall aswell...

I was about to purchase hitmanpro.alert, but it was 15$ a year and only works side of antivirus so i decided to go with kaspersky
License was about 6 eur, for kaspersky standard 1 year, 3 devices. For my desktop, pixel 6a, and mothers device.

So current setup is pretty much:

Kaspersky standard, default settings
Firefox with ublock origin + bitwarden
cloudflare as dns
SAC - ON
All core isolations enabled

i guess kaspersky is the one that works well on every device and i can rock firefox with it

I had to change my isp for cheaper + better plans because currennt one was expiring. They said its branded suite by f-secure, 100% identical. Might install them to mobile and maybe later to pc if i want to change my current setup.

It is identical, of F-Secure Internet Security compared with the paid consumer version. I had tried Spectrum's (ISP in the US) version on my Windows 11 laptop, and it was the same, just with their name at the top left of the UI.

Yes i probably set that up, i have done it in the past and had no problems with it. Im just wondering if it will block beamng mods that are downloadable in-game and are verified by beamng staff

Yes, it should be alright. If it's signed, and you have enabled the checkbox "Trust if signed", then it's gonna be fine. If you have disabled it (I recommend doing so to avoid signed malware), I'm pretty sure the developer is on the "Trusted Vendors" list. Whatever the case, you can manually allow the folder.

- Removed kaspersky standard ( had no issues with it but i dont really need it)
- Removed firefox

Current setup:
- Microsoft defender default settings
- Waterfox ( using its own adblocker) + Bitwardenn
- Adguard Paid DNS from adguard vpn 5 year license

Waterfox adblocker easily beats firefox + ublock origin for me, its faster, built in and for average joe its simple ( but average joe uses firefox)
its recommended to use script block still as its on early stages but you really dont need it

I actually use different antivirus software on the three computers I own: Kaspersky on one, Eset on another, and Microsoft Defender on the third. I haven't noticed any difference in security—since I've never had any issues with infections—so I think your decision is great. I might even follow your lead and stick with Microsoft Defender on all my computers.

I just like current waterfox, its going right way. Kaspersky on android did not support waterfox browser so i decided to switch to defender when i did clean install some time ago.

I think kaspersky and microsoft defender are the top guys here, even if avast / avg / norton do better in some tests i would not install that to my pc /android ever again

Also i dont like to buy cheap kaspersky keys, and i like adguard dns so i rather pay same amount for dns and actually i can buy it from adguard ''legit way''

I havent seen any malware on my pc in 18 years, back when i was young and most known antiviruses do well enough, so it doesnt matter wich one i use i guess. Defender is free and it comes with the os so no need for 3rd party

Same thing I'm doing, MD on my laptops, without using a hardening tool and with these changes made since I'm not a developer or using legacy software.

As far as MD, I do have PowerShell outbound blocked in Windows firewall, I uninstalled VBScript, and disabled via registry Windows Script Host to help with Windows protection.
