Several more security vulnerabilities were recently discovered in the Linux kernel packages, affecting the Natty and Maverick backport, and EC2 Linux kernels of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, and the OMAP4 Linux kernels of Ubuntu 10.10 and Ubuntu 11.04 operating systems.

No, just a reason to keep updating your distro. To be honest, all the new versions of various distros are kind of a train wreck, They kinda' work but all have various quirks and stuff that is just not polished.

I'm currently testing Kubuntu 11.10 (again). I updated KDE by first shutting down kdm (thus no x session and no kde session). Last time I went through their "muon" suite update manager, Kubuntu committed suicide. I got rid of muon and use Synaptic and console apt-get to install/update software. So far, so good. I still can't stand unity + compiz or gnome 3 + gnome-shell + mutter. Yuck.
