Hello everyone.

Regarding the recent AV-Comparatives discussion over at Wilders I think I need to make some things clear.

First of all I would like to apologize to every member of this board who felt insulted by my comments, but it was not my intention to say anything about the community of MalwareTips in general. I know it may have looked like that and for this I am sorry. I actually like this board because you can discuss security products more openly and I wouldn't be here if I despised you all so much.

It's true that I am very critical about YouTube video reviews and to some lesser extent about malware packs, but I am just as critical about official malware testing. In my opinion the results at AV-C, AV-Test and the likes are too good and they don't show the weaknesses of AV products but I don't think they are fixed and bought. I found this accusation to be unfounded and offensive.

But this shouldn't be about AV-C or who is wright and wrong. I would just like to stay part of this community and I am sorry if some of you have found what I have written here so far unproductive.

I didn't see any insulting comments,or what I personally would perceive as insulting,in the thread that I viewed on wilders.Seems to me you were just giving your personal opinion as were others. It is however a very nice gesture to offer an apology to the members and staff here :) I hope you stay active here!! Welcome to MT :)

I believe in giving people second chances (in fact, I also agree with giving people third chances). This is the first time I've ever read something you have written on MalwareTips, but thank you for apologizing.

:) Apology accepted! :)

Hello,

Anyone that has the guts to face his wrong doings, address communities openly, whether in person or behind a computer, is a very respectable move. I am sure the members here will appreciate that; while some may take longer than others to indulge your apology, it's a move in the right direction.
I am new here, barely 1 week, but as the first post i read from you, it says a lot about your character.
Everyone loses their temper now and again.
Apology accepted as well. ;)

We all say things which people interprit in ways we never imagine they could, despite it being perhaps so obvious, not everyone has the same eyes, one members obvious is anothers oblivious.

Anyway, whilst i don't know you here as well as i know some people, i find it honorable that you respect the members here enough to apologise ;)

Good job, now behave yourself!
Just a word of introduction for members not acquainted with Fleischman yet - he is usually the guy that posts the AV-Test, AV-Comparatives results on Wilders. Thanks for doing those.

thanks to replied to us ;)

some of us share your opinion, myself included especially with some methodologies made by youtube testers; some are flawed and clearly shows lack of knowledge of the products tested, but some are well made too.

In my opinion the results at AV-C, AV-Test and the likes are too good and they don't show the weaknesses of AV products but I don't think they are fixed and bought. I found this accusation to be unfounded and offensive.

As you said , and it is very true, those statements are unfounded because we are not behind the curtain and don't have real evidences but just rumors.

However, i found very suspicious when a product get high ratings where everybody tested it and saw very average results, it is hard to believe that the tests are "clean" and unbiased.

I would just like to stay part of this community and I am sorry if some of you have found what I have written here so far unproductive

don't worry , we allow the share of all kind of opinions and you are welcomed here.

enjoy your stay and feel free to share :D

Don't have a Wilder's account, but as a member of MT community, apology accepted.
