Google Chrome closes unexpectedly, has reverted to an older looking browser (and websites), and websites are full of advertising and antiquated looking links. McAfee LiveSafe has failed to recognise most infections. I downloaded and run Malwarebytes (free edition) and various other free scanners (following instructions on other threads on this forum). Performed a system restore. Cleared Astromenda extensions from Google Chrome settings. Although many of the most annoying pop-up adverts have been removed, the symptoms listed above still remain. I had an Astromenda infection about one month ago and first downloaded Malwarebytes then. Since the free version expired I think it is failing to protect against incoming or residual infections in my system. Thanks for any help you can give me.
