ok ive been looking around for ages but i would like to find a browser that is 100% customizable and doesnt come with all the useless stuff (well useless to me :) ) such as developer tools and pretty much the whole menu from firefox/chrome

but i did find a browser called ultra simple web browser it has what i want for browsing but with 3 downsides

1. no extension support

2. lots of page certificate errors

3. doesnt let you go fullscreen mode

if there is a browser out there like this please let me know as im sick of all the garbage features browser vendors add to there products but dnt give u a choice t ohide or remove them

Developers tools are never became useless, its design for enthusiast to analyze the scripts of HTML/CSS/Javascript and PHP for possible mysterious behavior but other than that since you want simple then here's the following:

1) Otter Browser, older engine of Opera which is Presto (12.x)

other considers are posted in this link: (You may check Sleipnir or Slimboat which are pretty simple too)

LabZero

Qupzilla is a browser fast and multiplatform based on Qt and WebKit core Framework. WebKit provides the quick browsing, while Qt availability on major platforms. It has features comparable to most known browsers such as Chrome and Firefox but uses less resources of both.

Natively supports the HTML5 and Javascript and also various plugins are available on the official website.

Yes but In my opinion its still a pretty secure browser. My primary recommendation is to use opera and if you need chrome extensions get
Chrome extension manager in the opera store

K-Meleon is portable (or installable), fully customizable, secure (being unpopular), free from all that crapware or malware toolbars and extensions.
Powerful, multilanguage and lightweight.

And TheWorld6 is like Chrome with AdBlock but without any extensions. Still capable but discontinued.

K-Meleon or Midori are some options you can try both are simple and light

ah ya stole my answers ;) well said toni. yep those two I used em both before, VERY LIGHT. K-meleon and Midori both.

The lightest with the most updates and all the features without BLOAT, in my opinion is SLIMBOAT
It has a download manager, pop up blocker etc. with low RAM and no lag!

NO BLOAT WITH DA BOAT! says @ JakeXPMan

Midori

What 'garbage features'?

If you want extensions and full-screen support and '100% customizable', you really ruled out 'simple'.

Konqueror (been ages since I've used it) is what I'd say '100% customizable'.

Midori is very unstable under Windows.
Slimboat is light but doesn't have good compatibility with HTML5 (only 209 out of 555 points) and CSS3 (35% passed). That's why it cannot handle a number of modern websites properly.

Some curious and interesting suggestions in regard to browsers. Some i might say are coming from unknown sources.
Why use a clone when the originals are just fine.
Internet speed is what dictates how fast your browser is and claims to the contrary are ill-founded.
They all have their catchy slogans and selling points but they talk the talk but can they walk the walk....?.

Has anyone actually ever heard of swiftfox...?.Who are they and what is the history of the company involved. Its not just about slogans its about company credibility.
Should credibility dictate the effectiveness of a browser.?

The Iron Browser is a classic example of scareware.Just a few clicks in chrome settings and you achieve the same.
Who on earth are Srware..?.There website has not been updated for at least 3 years....credibility..?:D

On personal level i use either firefox or chrome for the simple reason mozilla and google are well known companies and i would rather use their respective browsers rather than some unknown and possible one-man band outfit .:p

Cheers.:)

I agree with @Amiga500 over trusting reputable developers whom use open source code for browsers that are updated frequently (such as Mozilla & Chromium) as not all clones are created equal.;)

It has been three whole months now since I'd mentioned Sea Monkey, so I've finally decided to put my browser where my mouth is, and I've installed it today!:D

It feels very familiar & amazingly similar to Firefox, but of course...

"The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to develop the SeaMonkey all-in-one internet application suite (see below). Such a software suite was previously made popular by Netscape and Mozilla, and the SeaMonkey project continues to develop and deliver high-quality updates to this concept. Containing an Internet browser, email & newsgroup client with an included web feed reader, HTML editor, IRC chat and web development tools, SeaMonkey is sure to appeal to advanced users, web developers and corporate users."

Under the hood, SeaMonkey uses much of the same Mozilla source code which powers such successful siblings as Firefox and Thunderbird. Legal backing is provided by the Mozilla Foundation.
(Source: The SeaMonkey® Project)

It feels as good as Firefox without the same level of hesitation which prompted me to opt for Pale Moon x64 >>> The Pale Moon Project homepage

Back to Sea Monkey, thus far I am truly liking it; and with only (2) Add-ons extensions (I've included an Adblocker + LastPass) I see it has one thing in common with Pale Moon. The red LastPass icon is really :eek:BIG. I actually like it!:D

Here's a screen shot of how it's default buttons (which I like as well) look.:):)

addonman.png

It has a built in tracker blocking feature which tells you when a tracker's been stopped, and gives you the option to continue or to stop blocking it.
I'm thinking I may have found a new default browser, and one that already feels like an old friend!:):)
