Bitwarden has increased its subscription prices to support the development of new proactive defense features. The $10/year plan is no longer available, and prices for individual and family plans have gone up. The company states that these changes are necessary to fund enhanced security measures and continue providing a high-quality password management service.

Personally, I would not pay a subscription to a password manager. I have lifetime subscriptions to Dashlane, Enpass Pro, Sticky Password and Password Boss.

Looks like such a very good dealmaker 😎
Yeah. I hunt l hunt lifetime deals.

I got Sticky Password for $14 over 11 years ago.
I got Enpass for $9.99 in its early days.
I got Dashlane for free as I was an active beta tester.
I got Password Boss for free using credits on Stacksocial.

And I have no problem with that increase, if it's truly for security gain, especially for family use, a family subscription. People can chose something else if they feel the need to.
Proton Pass free version is still my favorite over Bitwarden.
The family subscription increased by 8$/year but the problem is the personal plan which increased by 100%. I believe Bitwarden will lose many customers.

I think Bitwarden already lost some users to Proton Pass previously, and now this loss will continue.
In my opinion, If users want cross-platform sync, then it is best to use Sticky Password. If they dont need that then they can use KeePass XC.

Sticky Password is "free" as there is always a giveaway (free one year subscription)

And this how the downfall always starts, instead of doing what they do the best, they start adding features nobody asked for. I do not want Bitwarden AV, I want PM. only PM.
Dashlane was top tier. They had a desktop app which they discontinued. They introduced the web-only experience which was the start of the downfall (home users) then they discontinued the web app and now they only offer an extension.

Enpass was great, but they did not honour their lifetime license and created a Premium version. Now the app displays promotions nagging Pro Lifetime users to upgrade.

Lastpass suffered from critical breaches and many of my friends ditched it.

The real premium option is 1Password. But it also had its share of problems especially when they moved to Electron (to save money and labor).

Sticky Password would be perfect if they introduce support to store OTP (but it goes against their philosophy) and custom fields.

One can self-host Bitwarden but it is much of a hassle.

Now I am using Password Boss. And though it is now a web-only experience, at least it is very reliable and it allows me to store OTP and create custom fields.

Agree with this statement. No extra features, no extra garbage and no bulls*it excuses about raising prices. If your going to raise prices just be honest.

I only signed up because the individual plan was $10USD, any more than $15USD in the future and I'm out.

It's become 20$/year, a 100% increase

Current Premium users are granted a one-time %25 discount (one month).
Not really. For CURRENT premium users, you can expect about $15 annual renewal fee when your renewal comes up. The subscription fee would be about $20 thereafter.

For non-premium users, you would be paying $20 annual subscription fee if you subscribe now.

The family plan's price increase is effective at renewal (or immediately for new signup) with no discount (except for some old Families 2019 plan).

Btw that OP website didn't work for me because it's blocked by NextDNS. Here is the official post. It sounds like the password manager is getting proactive defenses to notify people if their passwords have leaked and if they are about to accidentally autofill their credentials into a phishing site. There is also more cloud storage.

What’s new? Premium gets major enhancements

Vault health alerts: Identify and resolve vulnerabilities and risks to your digital security — reused, exposed, or weak passwords — and immediately take action to resolve them.

Password coaching: Bitwarden flags at-risk passwords right where you access them and guides you to update the password with a stronger alternative.

5x more attachment storage: Store more of your important files securely with expanded storage, from secure documents, backup codes, or sensitive files. More space to keep everything protected in your vault.

2x more security keys for 2FA: Use up to 10 security keys — including hardware keys, native biometrics, and passkeys — when logging into your Bitwarden account with two-factor authentication, helping ensure you can always access your vault.

Phishing blocker (coming soon): Proactively identify and block malicious websites before they can steal credentials, adding critical protection beyond password management.

I wonder to whose feeds they have subscribed for phishing protection?

Anyway, feeds for phishing protection are always post-factum.

As I did prove with my extension blocking pyramind.com or whatever, better solutions can be engineered.

The other additions don’t really look too attractive.
