Briefly explain your current issue(s)
Computer won't boot. Keep getting this error.
Steps taken to resolve, but have been unsuccessful
1) Reinstalling Windows (Computer didn't find any drives to install windows on)
2) Checked memory for errors. (Found none)
3) Bootable diagnostics tool couldn't scan for hard drive issues since it couldn't find any of the drives.
4) Reset BIOS settings to default
5)Attempted to run the disk diagnostics tool in the BIOS. Didn't work since it was greyed out.
My mom has an HP Compaq nc8430 computer. She recently encountered this problem this morning. Does this mean that the hard drive's dead? Any help is appreciated greatly :)

No, the BIOS does not detect the HDD. I doubt that the computer has a sata cable since it's a laptop
