App Review Norton AntiVirus 2014 Test and Review

Good:
-Nice UI
-Easy to use
-Url blocking is great
-Memory usage is ok (60MB)
-Phishing protection is great
-SONAR removed some threats after executing
Bad:
-Poor detection rate (779/1000=77.9%)
-Requires restart after installing updates (seriously ?!)
-Heavy on system
-Very slow at removing threats

Overall rating: 3.0/5 (Good).

Bottom line: Best paid antivirus is Emsisoft Anti-Malware (100% detection), best free Avast, Qihoo and many others. ESET uses same amount of memory as Norton, but it's light as feather. It's very slow at removing threats, so i don't recommend it.

Where did you download Norton installer from? Sometimes the installer (ie. build version) released is older than the latest, hence an reboot may be required.
