Go online and search, you will find many entries for the old versions, at least some on sites that aren't https. Seems pretty risky to me. Plus, the 2 or 3 sites I checked didn't specify whether those old versions were free for life or the 30 day trials.
Really, if you trial it first and really like it, consider to buy the latest (maybe the older versions had security or compatibility issues?). Have you checked Winstep Technologies? The docker is awesome and it's also free. He develops desktop utilites similar to Stardock but he's a little more expensive. Still, it's an alternative.
