I am sure, that you will not be infected, if you have the possible infection routes covered, which are the browser and USBs, there is nothing to fear.

I use VM for other AVs but for WD do it on my own. I'm very careful actually and don't execute any malware but Voodoshield is just for safety. But I might get rid of it because it's slowing down startup.

I'm lazy and using only set-and-forget built-in Shields/Tracking Protection in Brave and Edge with a couple extra add-ons.

If Voodooshield was that great, then you wouldn't even do it... not even to satisfy your curiosity or as an experiment.
WD is a lot better.
This is exactly why I got rid of ERP, another anti-executable. After making some revisions, like adding 4 ASR rules via gpedit.msc, I don't miss it. Nor do I miss the 2 second delay at startup. When you are used to very fast, at times virtually instant performance, this would be otherwise unacceptable. And to manually start ERP every time you start up is just silly.

Made Brave default browser; added Emsisoft browser protection to Brave and Firefox. Removed Edge Dev, and Edge now relegated to forum duty only. Sayonara M$ Edge.

Sorry for misinformation, Brave only claim user can make 5$ per month, some people on Reddit made 7$-10$ per month.Can you share a link about this?
I'm using Brave now and I'll post on MT how many money I get next month.

It's no longer my default browser, if this answers your question. If you are asking what I "did" to Edge, then I don't understand.
