It is better than other browsers or not, in the sense of consumption.

RAM and CPU resource consumption is on par with other browsers (in reference to Opera). If you're issue is, an inability to stream certain media, possibly, due to having an old system. I'd recommend the enhanced-h264ify plugin. Alternatively, there are posts you can check out, that focus on getting the most out of your browser.
