I check every day or so on Firefox add-ons, for me & for friends & relatives whose PC's I reluctantly look after (trying to close that system down as I imagine most on here are?)
For now at least previous version 1.1.2

Osprey: Browser Protection – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
Download Osprey: Browser Protection for Firefox. Protect against online threats in real-time using multiple browser protection engines.addons.mozilla.org
The extension operates as described:
There is no evidence in the provided code that the extension collects or transmits unrelated personal data (like browsing history across sites, cookies, form data, credentials) or sends any data to undeclared third-party servers. The broad host permission is necessary for its function but appears to be used responsibly within the context of contacting the declared security APIs.
- It intercepts navigation events.
- It extracts and slightly sanitizes the URL (hostname and path, sometimes the full URL depending on the provider).
- It sends this URL-related data only to the servers of the declared security providers (Microsoft, Symantec, Emsisoft, etc.).
- It uses the responses to decide whether to block the navigation and show a local warning page.
- It uses local storage for settings and caching results.
- Minimal telemetry (a daily GUID) is sent only to Microsoft's API endpoint.
The daily GUID will be removed in version 1.1.4, which has been submitted to every store.Just for fun, I checked the Firefox version via AI![]()
The best browser with extensions for Android is Firefox because it's an official browser with guarantees of safety and reliability, the various Kiwi and others are not responsible for how good their code is.Will this be available for other Android browsers in the future?
In which you can also install uBlock. The best browser with extensions for Android is Firefox because it's an official browser with guarantees of safety and reliability, the various Kiwi and others are not responsible for how good their code is.
Moreover, I checked version 1.1.5 from Firefox store as well with AI and it is also safe and reliable![]()
You shouldn't really notice a slowdown with osprey as it doesn't hold pages and default is the best balance as it uses only providers with good results in tests (personally I prefer to enable everything)following up on @Digmor Crusher question: I just installed Osprey on firefox Linux VM and I see it has 2 windows of protection options, 14 total, eight 8 are default enabled, six 6 disabled. Is it optimum protection to enable all of them, or what is optimum? I have noticed a slight slowdown in page loading but I also have Malwarebytes Browser Guard running which I see is not an Osprey option. ublock origin is also running.

I would suggest using only uBlock and Osprey and check again how pages are loading.Due to their high scores, the following providers are enabled by default:

Changes in 1.1.5
This update has been submitted to all extension stores.
- Fixed Firefox unclickable button popup bug
- Removed extension reload on allowed sites clearing
- Bug fixes and improvements
Is there a way to access the allowlist of Osprey?![]()
so far I left the protection ON its 8 default settings. MbamBG was already running so that adds to the "load" but the slowdown (if any?) I thought I saw was just a fraction and certainly not an annoyance. From: GitHub - Foulest/Osprey: Browser extension that protects you from malicious websites.

Interesting because when I first installed osprey on fedora firefox sometime yesterday, it seemed there was a glitch in the toolbar, but this am it was gone, perhaps some update overnight?Osprey Browser Protection 1.1.5

I would just disable Malwarebytes Browser Guard. I have absolutely no idea why your icon is black and white.Perhaps a silly question but I'll ask anyway... the Osprey icon in the toolbar is (appears) black & white, no color, and so far I have no indication that it's running, most of the other extension icons show color & show a number value of how many ickies they are currently blocking. FWIW I just ran a reported url and it was blocked by MbamBG -- so I wonder if MBG is interfering with Osprey.
