I am still in the process of configuring this dual boot system. I initially set up both with Bitdefender, but it was new to me, and seemed unreliable in showing if it was updated even on auto update. However I have not spent too much time with Bitdefender. I am unfamiliar with windows 8, but this is a laptop/touch machine (Dell XT3) and windows 8 has some other advantages over 7 which make me want to ultimately migrate to it completely.

Kaspernsky is running out in 6 days. I have a 3 month free extension for Kaspernsky, and two 9 month trials of Bitdefender.

My question: Since this a dual boot machine, and I will never run both OSs at same time (I do not run virtual machines on this laptop), does anyone have any practical experience on whether I can use one license for this machine for both OS on which of the following internet security suites? : Kaspernsky Internet Security, ESET, Norton, or Bitdefender. This means without software or technical problems, not any ethical or similar debates, or advice on operating systems.
Malwarebytes works with on both no problems.

Thanks in advance

RE: Question about # of internet security licenses for a dual boot system
Renamed topic title.

Normally license keys are designated to a single OS per PC. That's why you can buy multi-license packages of the same software, ie. 3 PC /1 Year. Once a license key is registered, it cannot be activated again. -- I might be wrong.

You don't have to be using "Internet Security Suites" all the time, because there are other Free Antivirus software that provide equal levels of protection. For Malwarebytes, if you're using the free, on-demand version then there are no licensing issues, (except business use).
