No AV is best specially bitdefender is not friendly with startup time. You have serial so i guess u can use it again in ur system. u can try other lightweight free AV like avast, qihoo IS etc. btw, also open CMD ( run as administrator) & type sfc/scannow & press enter & see if u get any corruption or error problems.

My very lengthy troubleshooting process:
1. Install Emsisoft Anti-Malware Here. (Activate 30-day trial)
2. Uninstall Bitdefender using uninstall programs.
3. Reboot when necessary
(Did startup time increase? If yes go to step 4, if no, go to step 5)
4. Uninstall Emsisoft then choose another antivirus
5. Download Glary Utilities here.
6. Click "Advanced Tools"
7. Click "Startup Items"
8. Disable any programs that do not need to be there
9. Reboot you computer
(Did startup time increase? If yes, go to step 10, if no, go to step 11)
10. Nothing... You're done :D
11. Install Emsisoft Online Armor here.
12. Disable Windows Firewall
13. Reboot
(Did startup time increase? If yes, go to step 14, if no go to step 15)
14. Keep Online Armor on and Emsisoft on, congrats for the achievement!
15. Go to step 16 for cleanup process (then reply for more confusing steps :p)
16 (Cleanup): Uninstall Online Armor and Emsisoft Anti-Malware, reinstall Bitdefender, reenable Windows Firewall, and uninstall Glary Utilities

Very confusing, but it might help!
Cheers, Chromatinfish :D
