Troubleshoot PC won't go to sleep

My pc won't go to sleep. The screen will, but the pc will not. No other symptoms.

Its suffering from insomnia.

Go to >>> "Change Power Settings" >>> "Change Plan Settings" >>> "Change Advance Power Settings" >>> "Multimedia Settings" >>> "When Sharing Media" >>> and make sure the setting says "ALLOW THE COMPUTER TO SLEEP." Not sure if you have done this yet but worth a look.

What is your OS?

Sleep feature may brought an issues like the following like hardware issues or software that causes trouble.

Thanks. I found the solution you posted in a Google search. I tried it but it did not work.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Edition.

I ran a full virus scan and it revealed two infected files and it fixed it. Not sure why this was moved from the Assistance forum area. It was a virus.
