Ran Dr. Web Cureit! Which found and removed 4000+ "threats", mostly in temporary internet files. This allowed the computer to load without freezing. Ran Roguekiller in safe mode + networking, while running Process Explorer. Roguekiller detected Trojan.Powelik and Trojan.Adclicker, so I followed their instructions and killed the dllhost.exe process tree in Process Explorer (would not allow me to do in standard mode), deleted files found in Roguekiller (see screenshot) - did not do this manually, just hit "delete" on Roguekiller. Have also run Malwarebytes to scan for anything left and it found nothing. Roguekiller keeps finding the same infections after reboot, and the Malwarebytes outbound blocking pop-ups persist. I've reached the end of my comfort zone with attempting to remove this myself!
