I just stumbled onto something new in the recent version of Sysinternals's Process Explorer (16.0.1).
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653
Try this: right-click on an entry in the process list. Note a new option: "Check VirusTotal". The first time you select this option you will have to agree to terms of service for VirusTotal. After accepting to check a specific file just right click and select Properties. You can see the VT results under the Image tab, and one can also resubmit by clicking the box there.
Even cooler, go into the GUI's Options menu, select VirusTotal.com entry and select the "Check VirusTotal.com item. Process Explorer will now have a new VirusTotal column showing VT results for running processes.
Nice!
(Looks like this has been previously discussed here: http://malwaretips.com/threads/process-explorer-v16-0.22416/#post-159530
Certainly bears repeating, and also shows the need to do a forum SEARCH before I hijack another's thread).
