Process Lasso is great for relieving the stress off of processes, resulting in a more stable and responsive system. I have seen many beneficial thing's come from Process Lasso, so I'll obviously side with it working quite well, rather than it being snake oil. I say give it test run yourself, to see how you can benefit from it.

As an end note, I highly recommend it.

Thanks is there a free 30 day trial ?

looks like good idea, but the thing that kills my system responsiveness more than anything is disk usage.
is there anything to control that?
PL offers an ability to change "I/O Priority", but I think the dev would discourage less experienced people from using it.
You should consider an HDD defragmentation for disk optimization.
If you like, buy and use SSD.

what is I/O Priority, and how does it affect system responsiveness?
I am not planning on messing with it, I'm just curious.

I don't know exactly how it works. Since it's about I/O, then it should be about hard disk drive. I think that option is for the system to allocate more or less time to the targeted processes. It may or may not affect general system responsiveness, and the outcome may or may not be good. That's why the dev would generally tell users to stick with the default setting to avoid any problems. :)
