Your right, but it is the concept to me. I don't trust companies that practice aggressive selling approaches. The product should sell itself. You shouldn't have to modify something, that's why I recommended just using good old Defender.
Respect your opinion. But with the good old Defender I made over 10 formats from infections .

And what that means. Are companies from Russia or America virgins ? Kaspersky???? Google??? I see negative comments all the time and they are from persons who don't use them. I use many years programs from China. Especially IOBIT programs (is more from 15 years on my system non stop) and the 360 I had for many years in my system. A free protection, very light , and pretty good for the years I had my system without one infection. Now about Vise vector the answer come from Evjl's Rain (this is a dedicated thread for the product where the developers actively listens to users and improves their product) This is a reason for me to look seriously at their product
I also tested WV a bit on July before going on current holidays ;)

If you re-read my comment, you will realise I never said being a chinese product was a negative thing. I said all I know from that product is where it's from. That's all. I don't know if they ever developed security products, I don't know how they handle information, what kind of data they collect, how it works. Please don't put in my mouth words I never said...

As many said,, Qihoo Cloud engine is one of the first 4 engines in VT to pick up some latest sophiscated threats followed by Eset, Mcafee!

However lack of strong dynamic protection, User dependent time bounded hips, Buggy and add bound Paid version, Less effective firewall,... Kicks me away from even testing this product!
As everything,, this product had its fame past,, but looking competition around,, might be closed as like Rising!
I heard their home based Chinese version differs a lot in Protection features and overall stability from Global home version.. :censored::emoji_expressionless:

At first I used Qihoo 360 and I really liked it and recommended it to my friends.
But they failed the AV tests by doing things that were not allowed and stopped testing that AV. And I stopped recommending it
Well, I have nothing against China, although I don't share its policy restrictive.

Trust me, big name software products from any country are prone to deceptive tactics, it's just that we don't know their full game yet. We've had numerous incidents of this.
How we use a product and using custom settings is important no matter which one you use. Country of origin has little role to play in this. The first thing I do when I install a software is to turn off sending anonymous data, because by default this is on for most softwares.

Despite I agree, I wouldn't install software I know nothing about in my system. I break my brain trying to minimize privacy risks and fingerprinting of my systems, just to install a random sofrware that has full access and permissions to do whatever it pleases with my arquitecture, data and information. Despite it usually brings no risks, you're trusting your SECURITY to somebody you don't know. If you were a bank manager, would you hire an accountant just because you read on a social network he performed well at his jobs for two consecutive months? Like I say, it's not a matter of wether it works or not, it's a matter of knowing what you're using. You can't trust your system if you don't know who manages it.

Robbie has a point that there are some users that promote some random products that they think the AVs perform well in real life
People should learn something about a product before installing it and start the evaluation

But the problem is, some other users actually use, do some researches, test and evaluate the AVs with visible proofs. That's the differences

There are reasons why I recommend some users who are interested to try out WiseVector. I haven't said it outperforms other well-known AVs
I do know how this product works, performance impact on VM and on my host machine to some degree, not too deep but enough, other than it's from China
I do read their privacy policy and get a confirmation from the developer (the policies look great) -> it's the same for other well-known AVs. They may do something differently behind the scene from what they claim. Nobody knows until they are busted

I don't change my 2 recommended AVs (average users): Avast and Kaspersky
I'm trying out WiseVector for 40+ days and I found it has many pros with some tolerable cons so I recommend other users to try it out although it's not a default-deny product
of course I install Avast and Kaspersky on every other machine of my friends and family

1 important factor: WiseVector is FREE at the moment. People can install and uninstall with ease. No need to spend some money or worry about 14-day trial period. It's kind of portable too, can run without installation (self-made)

Me too. In friends i install everytime Avast or AVG or Kaspersky . And my comment about China did not because I have something with this member or some other members. But I'm tired of seeing comments like this: This is China's junk. Will steal your data will steal your home, they will execute you public.....And if is from russia , Romania , or America is just perfect. After many years of using Chinese products, nothing has been stolen from me, and I haven't seen myself in porn movies :giggle:

please could you send me the configuration for both programs as a reference for the future usage
Hi and sorry for the late response.
When i downloaded 360 i blocked the PromoUtil.exe. (i think thats the name) process that is responsible for generating ads with Windows Firewall.
All the engines enabled.
USB Drive Protection and Online Shopping Protection turned OFF. If you need any of these you can have them on.
From the settings you can enable/dissable any option if you dont like it. I've enabled the Patch before you turn off PC and ticked everything in the Full Check section.
Cloud Analysis OFF
From Active Protection i didnt touch anything. Dont use 360 extensions, there are better options. I use Chrome with HTTPS Everywhere and Ublock.
Trust list: I added the exes from Comodo installation folder.
COMODO Firewall: i installed only the program, no geekbuddy or comodo dragon.
Then you switch to Proactive ->Restart PC.
General Settings: pretty much default
Firewall: Safe Mode, Do not show...OFF, Enable Trust...Unsecured...ON, Turn traffic animation ON(they are so cool!!), the other stuff OFF, from Advanced section everything ON.
Application Rules: I added every active 360 process as Allowed Application.
Everything else Default.
HIPS: OFF
Containment Settings: Turn OFF the things above Advanced. In the Advanced turn ON Do not show privilege elevation alerts(Block).
Auto Containment: OFF
File Rating: OFF
Advanced Protection->Virus Scope OFF, Script Analysis OFF, Miscellaneous Default
Website Filtering OFF
I forgot to mention that i have the modern theme, its so clean :)

Final words:
1) Even if you have the best Av, common sense is what matters.
2)If i need to run an unknown program i always check it Virus Total. If im still suspicious ill run it in Comodo Sandbox( thats why i downloaded in the first place).

I hope i helped!

And again, I have never ever said this product is crap because it's chinese, neither did I judge chinese product's strategies. All I said, I repeat, is that ALL I KNOW from the aforementioned product is where it was created. This does NOT mean the origin country is a negative factor, it's suppossed to mean that ONE piece of information from the software is all we have. That's not enough to make something your primary security solution. That's my opinion. You are free to use it all you want. Many chinese products are great, some are not. Just like many americans are great, and some are not. And the list continues.
