Is it better to use avira antivirus free or avast free?
That my friend will depend on you.

Avira have good signatures I think and they do make use of machine learning technology as well. I've heard rumours surrounding their Professional version and dynamic protection but I'm yet to see it for my own eyes - they do have a cloud as well though.

Personally I'd go with Avast Free because they offer many different components for free, including their dynamic protection... However Avast also collect a lot of data and sell it for money (allegedly to be non-identifiable). Most popular vendors will collect some form of data, not sure if they sell it too though. You could read up on privacy policies about that if it interests you.

You can try out each one and see which one you prefer and decide accordingly based on your personal feedback on the experience.
