Agreed. That is why I love Rainmeter. You don't need everything open and it tells you what you need without opening anything.
 
Rainmeter is good in the sense that you can download hundreds/thousands of skins and themes for it, it's lightweight, and looks pretty nice :)

After a time i end up not liking all the extra stuff i install on my pc, and i need it clean, so i uninstall all the crap and leave it on a clean slate :)
