I tried it a few weeks ago and It's got absolutely terrible detection rates, despite the impressive claims.

If you want to try a little known antivirus, have a look at WiseVector StopX.
It's doing extremely well in testing at the Malware Hub here, but I've found it to be somewhat buggy.

There's also WardWiz.
It uses Avira signatures and is very light. Other than that, it's unremarkable, but infinitely better than Ram is.

Generally it's best to stick with the big name antiviruses. Most unknown antiviruses are terrible and that's why you never hear of them.

Does it have a proprietary engine?
Yes it does and that's why it performs so terribly. But you need to understand that even unknown antivirus which use e.g. Avira or Bitdefender signatures, always perform far worse than the original product. Not only are the detection rates often less than for the original product, they either have no behaviour blocker, or ones that performs terribly.

For the most part, these unknown antiviruses are really only of use to test and should not be used to protect your computers.
