I think it was my fault; misclicked after installation.
Tried rerunning the installer, but it remained premium.
So uninstalled from control panel and reinstalled; this time it was installed correctly as free.
Then removed the unnecessary components and restarted.

So the better, older free Avast is still working; no need for the free Avast one.

I see ur playing in turbid waters here. I am very well-aware of Webroot's weeknesses. I am using it for the following reasons.

1- It is very light, yet not the lightest on system resources.
2- It is dirt cheap.:)
3- Excellent webprotection.

Using Webroot has nothing to do with my criticism of the used methodology in malware tests here. Feel free to go back to other threads and see the reasoning of my criticism.

One final point, I have never built my decision over online entertainment tests. I use what works for me. Period.
Nah, the waters are crystalline clear here knowing that the tests here and elsewhere are more of a heads up than what you`d get with a serious testing authority.

I understand the lightness of it and the web protection aspect but to actually pay for old code with a recent paint job, well that`s your choice of course ?

Well as a side note I really think anyone here at MT would find it hard to get infected with malware without anything cept MD so anything else is fooling around.

Regards Eck:)
