Linux being "more secure" than Windows is a myth.

A few months ago I received an email from Kaspersky about their new protection for Linux.

It seems soon we will see more offering protection for Linux.
Entirely agree; the reason is their small market share, making them a less attractive target than Windows.
Wait until Linux users increase to 10%; its malware and security products will start to shine.

For now those offering security products for Linux market their products offering protecrion against spreading Windows malware to other devices.

I believe Android is based on Linux and there is a relative increase in Android malware. I believe we are going to witness an increase in Linux malware soon.

No need to wait. The internet is full of Linux servers running in the cloud.

Not really. Considering that some 96% of the internet's servers are run on Unix like OS's. That fact that chaos doesn't reign on the net is due to the stability and security of Linux.

There will be more vulnerabilities to be discovered in the coming months, as Athropic's Mythos AI is put to good use, doing what it does well - finding and fixing security bugs. This bug in the OP is found by Mythos.

But I would still argue that Linux security is not a myth. And I would add a few points that I think are the reasons.
. Teksavvy security conscious admins runs those web servers
. Unless you are running Red Hat or Rocky, you don't have much legacy technology to secure.
. Linux/Unix security has a long history of dealing with hackers ever since the mini-computer days and evolved onwards. Whereas DOS and Windows went about changing and re-inventing the wheel. Make new mistakes. And consequently has to figure out new security solutions.
