I see you have only AVG product as a On-demand scanner. I would recommend to Malwarebytes as it can find many things that AVG missed.

Kind of makes you feel like Dr. Frankenstien, doesn't it... Seriously, I'm glad you recovered.
Your use of Adblock is good!
Do change your UAC setting to at least default (even if you feel annoyed by it).
In addition to Malwarebytes Antimalware, here are some additions I like & learned of from the Wise Oracles of MalwareTips!

• CCleaner http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/CCleaner.shtml (I recommend the portable version)
  
• Sandboxie containment protection for your system www.sandboxie.com

for browser addons I can suggest https everywhere and zenmate and its a really bad idea to turn off uac. do you use windows 7 native firewall??
