I'm considering changing anti-virus software. Any suggested replacements for Nortons?

you don't need to change your AV
emsisoft is much better and more reliable than norton
I suggest you to add zemana portable to your second optinion scanner. You can download it here

Consider adding Zemana Antimalware as an on demand scanner.

I use Norton Security Premium with satisfaction, during malware testing, the samples do not have an easy life.
Only one thing, if you use Sandboxie with Chrome, you have to disable the Norton toolbar otherwise SB provides error.
But it is not a big issue.
