Looking for a way to run multiple Metro applications (Modern UI apps) simultaneously in Windows 8? For example, more than one website at the same time, then there is a freeware solution available at Windows Store. Called Toolbox for Windows 8, this app lets you run up to 6 apps simultaneously without closing or minimizing any of the app.

According the app developer the “Toolbox is designed to bring unparalleled productivity enhancement to the Windows 8 platform. With Toolbox, you can view and interact with up to 6 different tools at once, giving you the power and flexibility to customize your workspace for maximum productivity”

Currently Toolbox includes 10 tools such as Web Browser, Calculator, Unit Converter, Facebook, Voice Notes, World Clock, Weather app, etc. and more tools will be added in the future.

Using the app is very simple. After installation, you will see some pre-defined layouts and tools. To open an app, just right click and choose a layout or swap your fingers up or down (on touch screens).

Though, currently this app includes 10 tools, you can use a maximum of 6 tools at a time, however, you can customize your workspace to maximize your productivity.

Install Toolbox for Windows 8 from Windows Store
