Korean appliance and consumer electronics giant Samsung Electronics this week announced fresh security improvements for upcoming Galaxy smartphones with One UI 8.

To keep the on-device AI-powered features protected, the company is introducing Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), a new architecture that confines applications to their own sensitive information through encrypted storage environments.

KEEP, Samsung says, protects users’ personal insights, such as preferences and routines, which are also secured by the on-device tamper-resistant hardware security environment called Knox Vault, along with other features that rely on user-specific inputs.

The tech giant also touts an improved Knox Matrix in One UI 8, which delivers proactive, user-friendly protection for connected Galaxy devices, and disconnects those flagged for serious risk from all cloud-connected services, while notifying the user and guiding them to resolve the issue.

Following the introduction of Post-Quantum Enhanced Data Protection (EDP) in the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is now bringing a fresh cryptographic framework to Secure Wi-Fi, to provide strengthened protections through post-quantum cryptography.
