Sandboxie Plus 1.18.6 brings several fixes that improve stability and reliability, alongside expanded language support. This release adds Persian (Farsi) translations for SandMan, the Troubleshooting Wizard, and the installer, thanks to imalyzer’s contribution, making Sandboxie Plus more accessible to Persian-speaking users.

This update fixes an issue in SandMan where URL-encoded characters were incorrectly interpreted as message placeholders, resulting in corrupted SBIE message links. It also resolves updater issues to make the update process more reliable.

Further corrections address transient exemption handling and path handling, improving reliability in these areas. A potential null pointer exception when unloading the driver has also been fixed, preventing a possible crash during driver shutdown.

This is a maintenance release rather than an emergency security update, but it is still worth taking: the most practical fixes concern updater reliability, malformed SBIE message links, path/transient-exemption handling, and a possible crash while unloading the driver. The official changelog confirms the 11 October release.

The GitHub release provides Plus x64, Plus ARM64 and Classic x64 installers, along with SHA-256 checksums. A normal in-place update should be the first choice after closing sandboxed programs. If that fails, the developer recommends uninstalling the previous build while retaining Sandboxie.ini, then installing the new version—no need to perform that detour pre-emptively.
