I followed the development of the open source version of Sandboxie Considering the fact that Sandboxie has a lot of lines of code and the fact that the person maintaining Sandboxie would need a lot of knowledge about security and the Windows OS, I thought the maintenance and further development of Sandboxie by the open source community would be to complex and take to much time. I was not the only one being pessimistic about the future of Sandboxie. A lot of comments on security forums about the Sandboxie going open source were about Sandboxie becoming unusable after a few Windows updates. Which was not a strange thought because the Invincea/Sophos sandboxie team often released emergency updates to fixed new incompatibilities introduced with a Windows update. I have been reading the releases notes of the open source version often and was surprised that David Xanatos not only managed to get to known Sandboxie, but also fix existing bugs and incompatibilities in the old source code while developing new features and a new user interface. Also the open source Sandboxie seems to suffer less from Windows and Browser updates than the nagware version of Ronen/Invincea/Sophos. So to @DavidXanatos thanks for stepping in and applause for the improvements you made: 👏👏👏
