I allow all of my notifications to show because I do not store sensitive information on my phone such as credit cards, debit cards, driver's license, air miles card, etc. I do make purchases through the App Store, though, on an occasional basis.

It would be ironic for an actual security researcher to use an unsupported, unsecured mobile device in 2021. Do you have plans to upgrade your iPhone?

iPhone 6s still gets security updates, my 5s got it few weeks ago. That's one reason I prefer iOS over Android - they release security updates even for previous version

Read the post again, updates may cease in 2021 for this generation of iPhone. Out-of-band updates are for security, not new iOS releases.
