Hi there,

at the moment i´m using firefox and i sync all bookmarks and addons with the (old) sync function over a managed root server. My passwords are synced over keepass, also over this server. So far so good.

What i was wondering, is there any other safe and secure (chromium based) browser which allows me to use my own! server to sync all things i need? I can't imagine that with that wide amount of browsers on the market only firefox allows me to do so.

Looking forward to see your experiences.

Cheers!

No idea? Anyone? Really can´t imagine that firefox is the one and only browser which allows bookmark syncing with an own server. Would like to use a chromium based browser, but i am a bit concerned about privacy in bookmark syncing...

I cannot think of anything along those lines.

Have you had a look for a Keepass plugin that supports Chromium/Chrome: http://keepass.info/plugins.html

Remember to read the reviews and ratings

Each of the major browsers provide their own Sync features, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. However, in the link there is an extension called Xmarks which does provide Bookmark Syncing, and is owned by LastPass (famously known for their Secure Password Manager software).

Thanks, but that is not what i am looking for. Keepass is already used for syncing my passwords over ftp. And exactly this is what i'm looking for to with my bookmarks.

As mentioned, a solution like "keepass for bookmarks", apart from firefox, would be dream. xmarks is no option for me, because all the data is stored "somewhere". I mean, how safe is this, and how safe would my "encrypted" bookmarks be on services like opara link or google bookmark sync?
