Ok guys, im new here, i am reading that forum some time, but i registered here only to ask that question. So friend of mine gave me link to shodanhq, and he said, you can watch webcams and control phones only knowing IP adress or city. Well, how can i prevent from that? It is firewall job, or maybe anti exploit? It is kinda scarry and im worried. Best regards ;)

First of all disable your webcams and limit on the application you should access.

In case of Firewall then the built from Windows should be sufficient but if still conscious then consider to add tiny tool enhancement like Windows Firewall Control or Tinywall or the manual firewall monitoring tool called Glasswire. Incoming connections by defaults is already set to block.

Disable any printer and file-sharing to limit any possible connections.

Lastly Anti-Exploit are more in the mitigations attack by your programs like browser and PDF's. Always prepare to upgrade for latest patches.

In reality you shouldn't be infect on that case where if you are aware on the programs you use and sites you visit.

Welcome, @TheRK
I recommend to keep your system updated and secure; installing the latest patches, security software and avoid suspicious downloads. You can share your Security Config here: Security Configuration Wizard

If you have a router, check that it's running the latest available firmware, and enable the built-in hardware Firewall.

Shodan HQ is a portal to connecting to systems in the IoT. Think of it as "Black" Google or Google Gone Bad, it finds vulnerable or exploitable systems connected to the Internet, including those that shouldn't be.

Shodan is not a free or an anonymous service. It's used by security specialists, researchers and law enforcement, as well as cyber-criminals.

Does kaspersky handle with it? I mean - it has auto camera blocking. Is it enough? And what about remote control using (not spying). For example could it be used to open door on smart house or used for botnet? Is it really that simple? (I heard that you can even control traffic lights, so...) Well, and last question, about firewall boosters - is wfw + wfw booster better than comodo, emsi or kaspersky? What about hips? As i heard shodans work is not only spying.
Thank you so much for replies! :)

@TheRK : Let's sum it up

1) Kaspersky's feature assumption with proper tweaking should notify for possible changes, you will assign certain program to limit the access.

2) Better turn off the remote service as possible when not using it, hence the chance to be vulnerable is minimal.

3) If a system is poor on security enhancement then remote gain access will surely occur which why prevention should be taken to avoid an easy hack.

4) Firewall boosters are enhance to improve Windows Firewall but it varies on the develop of 3rd Party how effective would be.
