Solved "Shopping Assistant" will not go away

I've uninstalled Chrome and Firefox and just haven't bothered reinstalling them yet. I reset IE and I'm on that now, re-ran Malwarebytes and FRST, which I've included. Still happening, though.

I bring my computer to university every day and it happens there as well, but I just reset my router to factory default and there has been no change. Starting today, Malwarebytes has twice now blocked two or three popups from tr553.com, but I'm not sure where to find that information on the app if that is useful information for you.

Please re-run
51a46ae42d560-malwarebytes_anti_malware.png
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
  • Click the History tab.
  • Click Application Logs and double-click the newest Protection Log.
  • At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.
Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.

So with the popups, it flashes a website before redirecting to whatever garbage advertisement, but a redirect took long enough that I could see another one: connect5364.com, so I went into my router settings and blocked connect5364.com and tr553.com which helps with the number of popups, but the shopping assistant still shows up on the side of websites. Just got another popup website, s.hklmm.com.

Yes, they still exist in all broswers, they are just less severe at home where I have blocked some of the sites at the router, but the shopping assistant sidebar continues to show even at home.

If anything, I feel like it may be getting a little worse. Maybe I'm just getting more and more aggravated, but today I also started getting Ads by Jabutica also showing up over some pictures and could only view the pictures after you closed the ad. Only happened the one time today on lifehacker.com.

I found where it hides:

FRST.gif
FRST search

Once again we shall use FRST for additional checks. Re-run FRST/FRST64 by double-clicking:
  • Copy dnsapi.dll into the Search: field in FRST then click the Search Files button.
  • FRST will search your computer for files and when finished it will produce a log Search.txt in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please attach it to your reply.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Still doing it in all browsers, but I'm not sure it ran correctly. Usually it runs for a couple minutes, but this time it restarted like maybe 5 seconds after I hit the fix button.

Chrome has been uninstalled for a while. Just uninstalled Firefox, reset IE, restarted my computer, haven't reinstalled anything, but it is still doing the same thing in IE.
