I'm currently using Avast Premier and Kaspersky Anti Ransomware! A new version of Avast Premier has been released which has a Ransomware Shield. I'm thinking of removing KAR before updating to new version. Is it a good Idea?

Starting about 4 weeks ago, avast started bogging down my PC.... I switched.

Using Gdata Total Security 2017, found it on sale today $19.00

I'm using one engine, and set firewall to highest setting, running nicely.

Actually, KAR s not just anti-ransomware. It is basically entire Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) taken from their main programs. It'll detect malware that's not ransomware using behavior analyzer and cloud services. I think it's still beneficial to run it along avast! even if avast! already received specific anti-ransomware tool.
