Troubleshoot Should i turn off Windows defender firewall?

WD FW

Steps taken to resolve, but have been unsuccessful

As a title says should i turn off WD FW? I run ESET smart security and i just realize that WD FW is on. Microsoft say that we should leave FW ON even if we run 3rd party software. What do you guys think about that?

I have KTS2019a in my W10 and also FW service is enabled, in the past I disabled it manually and sometimes got issues with Windows Update, so I guess it is better to keep it enabled...

Theorically after the setup of ESET Smart Security, which uses its own firewall, Windows Firewall should be turned OFF automatically. Please check if the firewall of ESET is enabled.

ESET FW is on. Windows defender security center also show ESET but at the bottom is Windows Defender FW also ON

Indeed, not to mention updating store apps and etc. The question is, if the OP wants to disable WF or its service?

IMO you have to turn it off.There is no point to keep two firewalls running in the same system,it will slow it.It's the same as you are running two antivirus together.

If you want you can just disable the firewall in the control panel, but never ever disable the firewall service, it is necessary to make Windows works correctly (updates, DNS service, Store).

Yeas I only use simplewall latest beta ,very light and easy with filtering.
