Can I erase an IMAP account I did for test (I use POP3 on it) if the software (OperaMail) hasn't access to it (I recently changed its password) and I haven't any mail in the inbox?
Are mails safe in this case?

If you delete an IMAP account from your desktop email client, this will not affect the mail server. All the messages that were on the server will stay there.

Ok, so if I keep the tick on "leave messages on the server", even if I remove the account, I won't lose any mail.
I lose only the mails I remove from client or that are moved in local folders - and this is fine, as IMAP does "a remote access".
I ask as I "destroyed" an account with IMAP years ago :D

Yes, you still have a copy on the server.

Ok, thanks alot.
However, I moved two of my three POPs (I really should "kill" one) to IMAP.
The main one will stay with POP for now XD
Found an extension for thunderbird that could help for the thing :)
