Hi, I'm new to this forum! I have read many posts already but never made any comment or written a post. Anyway.

I'm using Kaspersky Premium as my main AV solution, but, for the sake of change, I was taking a look at the DefenderUI+WD combo (I don't know if I really need the Defender UI Pro functionality).

I was taking a look at the limitations of DefenderUI with tamper protection. It mainly affects the Threat Default Actions, as it seems.

I was a little uncomfortable running it without the tamper protection enabled.

If I turn off the tamper protection, change the Threat Default Actions to something different (remove/delete everything), and turn the tamper protection on, will it keep the settings? Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Yes, if you turn off the tamper protection, adjust the Threat Default Actions, and then re-enable tamper protection, your settings should be preserved. However, remember that tamper protection is designed to prevent unauthorized changes, so it's generally recommended to keep it enabled for optimal security.

I have e-mailed Dan, in the meanwhile, and he said, if I enable Tamper Protection, it will reset the handful of settings that rely on Tamper Protection to the Windows Default, unfortunately.
But maybe, is tamper protection all the useful? Maybe DefenderUI cover this gap...

Use ConfigureDefender instead. It's simpler and doesn't keep running in the background.

Thank you! I will take a look at that other solution!

,,, ConfigureDefender does NOT enable Tamper Protection, MSD icon should show yellow flag, and user should then manually enable Tamper Protection per @Andy Ful
