To all Space Geeks out there- Just saw the most amazing thing ever. SpaceX just launched the StarShip capsule into orbit, with the booster being the biggest ever constructed.

The amazing part is that after the Capsule detached and went into orbit the booster returned back to the launch site where it was caught by the “chopsticks” on the original launch gantry. The capsule itself will be returning in a few minutes after this test flight which can be seen here (live):

Space TV

That's truly an amazing feat by SpaceX! The reusable booster technology is a game-changer in space exploration. Thanks for sharing the live link, I'm sure many will be eager to watch the capsule's return.

I am excited about this mission. After delays due to hurricane, it is scheduled to launch tomorrow. Though we'll have to wait till 2030 to receive data

For any interested in Lunar landings (Lunatics) may want to be aware of a company called Intuitive Machines. They are the guys that had a successful probe Moon landing earlier this year, and will repeat this in January.

Intuitive Machines

The goal of these landings is to eventually set up what essentially amounts to a package delivery service between Earth and Moon (Long haul Space truckers).

Even better they will be launching a number of Communications satellites between Earth and moon to provide real time communications from the moon to support any manned Landings (like Artemis). They will then charge by the minute (NASA estimated 1 million minutes annually) making them the only Lunar ISP and cellphone provider. For this latter service NASA has awarded them a $4.6 BILLION contract over 10 years.

The nice thing is that they are publicly traded (LUNR) and gives one the ability to get a Piece of the Action in Lunar development (I’ve been buying for the past year).

The moon is the past. I hope to still be around when Elon Musk puts the first people on Mars.
I'm currently re=reading Ray Bradbury's 'The Martian Chronicles.' Could be more to the book than anybody realizes.

Fireball XL-5 Sorry that you late kids born well beyond the 1960's, but all who remember it Raise Your Hands.

I bet i can count you on one hand,

FUN FACT: On the Sci-Fi 60's puppet series Fireball XL-5, the Professor Matthew Matic, ship's designer, engineer, navigator and scientist of XL5 (voiced by David Graham). He speaks in a voice very similar to actor Walter Brennan.

Steve Zodiac & Venus Main Characters. Puppets of course.

Easter, you're just a child. I remember Tom Corbett, Space Cadet in the early 1950s. Or, how about Space Patrol, from the middle 1950s?

Check Youtube. I think Tom Corbett is there now.

A welcome compliment @Chuck57 - An to answer your question. I do not remember Space patrol but Thanks for offering me another RELIC to engage in rescue operations for that programme and it's episodes. :)

Agreed. This is what can be achieved with a can do private sector approach as opposed to the can't do and often won't do attitude of the public sector, and at a fraction of the cost.
