If you are in the market for an SSD, now might be a good time to be looking at one. I was just performing some checks and you will notice that prices on popular SSDs have dropped significantly. You can find a 500GB Crucial MX500 for 100 euros.

As to why the price drop is happening, I am not sure. Then again, oy! who cares right? In the graph below you can see by how much prices are dropping, check this one out:

...
.......

So above the Crucial MX 500. That is the 500GB model that started selling at roughly 138 euros, right now it is hovering at the 100 euro marker, which is just 20 cents per GB. Next one then:
....
.....

So above the Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB, this product was 189 Euros six months ago, now roughly 106 Euros, so it has dropped a good 43% in price.

I recently wanted to get an SSD for my vms. I'm glad I waited longer! I'm interested in the 128GB ssds. The wd green is now 10€ cheaper. Not much, but like you said, you can feel the difference with bigger ssd drives.

I realized that. Almost 2 years ago, I bought a Sandisk Ultra II (480GB) for my mac for 145€ in amazon. Last week, I bought an SSD for my desktop, a Samsung EVO 860 (500GB) for 105€, very huge difference.
