Surfshark has announced updates to its consumer VPN service designed to improve the security and privacy of users.

Nexus is a software-defined networking technology that connects users to an entire network of servers before routing them to their chosen location. This is different from some other consumer VPNs, which connect users to a single VPN server.

The purposes of Nexus is to improve online privacy by allowing users to change their IP address within a network without having to disconnect from a VPN, as well as speeding up and stabilising VPN connections both locally and internationally.

Some new upcoming security/privacy features

1) The IP Rotator periodically changes your IP address without disconnecting from the VPN, which enhances privacy. Users can choose how they want the IP to rotate, stating a specific location, country, region, or even globally.

2) Surfshark Nexus will also provide users with an IP randomiser to hide browsing patterns which, when active, gives the device a new IP address every time a new website or other internet resource is visited.

3) Users will also have access to Dynamitc Multihop, a feature that allows users to pick their own entry and exit locations for their VPN.

I'm using Surfshark VPN.

The IP Rotator for the moment is still in BETA, and it can rotate the IP addresses within the same country. If the country has only one location then it can't rotate the IP address. And the IP Rotator would not work if MultiHop is enabled. Also, still CANNOT choose how you want the IP to rotate, stating a specific location, country, region, or even globally.

The MultiHop feature for now is with fixed pairs of countries(locations). No user selection of locations allowed.

All these will change with the forthcoming new features. Looking highly towards them.

i have a feeling they focus too much on gimmicks instead of fixing first the base.

Example Wireguard times out in some situations.

Meanwhile on mullvad or similiar VPN everything works fine and mullvad also got Dynamic multi hopping and everything.

Mullvad's multihopping is still using CLI and it's not available on android
