I would like to suggest either Macrium Reflect or Aomei Backupper for backups and creating system images. Both have a good free and reliable version for you to use.

Everytime it updates, it sucks the life out my laptop's hdd for freaking 5 min (not sure about free version but 'antivirus plus' updates every hour)

Everything looks great, I would recommend using Cryptomator before uploading to Google Drive.
