System Health is Critical! Pop Up cant beat this

Ok lets see if I can explain this in less than a million words. A couple weeks ago I started getting a pop up that said in part "Suspcious Activity Detected!.....System Health is Critical!" It is a blue and white screen and it wants me to click a link to "connect to sever 1" or to call the "Certified Technical Help Desk: 1-800-900-8181." The pop up address bar says it is "support.microsoft.com" which is clearly is not. I realized right away this was a some sort of scam and didn't click the link or call and figured I would just take care of it. Two weeks later no luck. I get these pop up in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge IE. Sometimes the computer will work fine for short periods of time allowing browsing but then it will either go to this pop up whenever I open a browser or will just simple not find the website I am trying to navigate to and time out. Laptops connected to my home network will do the exact same thing. What is really odd is that I was due for a new home PC anyway so I went ahead and bought a totally new home PC, hooked up it, and on my very first attempt at web connections I got this same pop up, how is this even possible. I have just a basic DSL modem and NetGear router. I have run AdwCleaner, Malwarebytes, JRT, and HItman Pro, while they did find some things on my old PC I'm not sure if it found what was causing this since it didn't seem to fix the problems. On the new PC none of them nor my AVG programs find any problems at all.

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:
  • At the top of your post, please click on the "Watch thread" button and make sure to check Watch this thread...and receive email notifications. This will send an email to you as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing me to solve your problem faster.
  • Please do not install any new software during the cleaning process other than the tools I provide for you. This can hinder the cleaning process. Please do not perform System Restore or any other restore.
  • Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
  • Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using
    fjqb1h.png
button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.

  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay for the repair.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

Yes it will happen in Chrome, Firefox or Edge (IE). Like I said I am puzzled, the one I ran Farbar on is a brand new computer, like literally just got it last week. The same thing was happening on the old PC and also happens on our two laptop. I have talked to my internet provider tech support and they are of no help and assure me its nothing to do with them and that there is no way that my model or router could be "infected"' in any way because that is not possible with basic modems or routers. Now yesterday I was able to use the computer normally all day. I dont dare do anything on it like banking or anything important, but I used it for general browsing off and on but I almost guarantee that the problem will happen again randomly, the day before it worked fine in the AM and then multiple attempts in the afternoon and evening got the pop up. I have atttached a picture of what will show up no matter what I try to browse when the problem is happening. The computers seem to function fine for non internet related processes. Thanks for your quick replies this is very frustrating.

As I've said your PC isn't infected. These are fake warning trying you persuade you into calling fake tech support. No one can help you with this, because this happens to many people. You can try to see where it happens and to avoid that particular website.

I happens with any/all websites and randomly. It not a matter of visiting some sketchy website, it happens while trying to visit some of the most common/safe websites that millions of people visit every day. Most of this past weekend the computer wouldn't work it would either go to System Health Critical Screen or it just simply wouldn't navigate to any page it would error and time out. It would be that way for hours on end and then magically it would work. There is no particular website that does it. For example today at around noon time I was on youtube listening to music, and was also on hotmail (just the login screen because I didn't dare login in with passwords) and then noaa weather page and intellicat. At around 5pm I tried visiting the same exact sites and got the problem. Even if I were to type in say www.google.com in the address bar it would take me to that screen. I realize these are fake warnings but they've got to be showing up for a reason that can be stopped somehow.

I have "rebooted" both the router and modem several times when it is experiencing the problem with no help. However I have not "reset" the router. I will give that a try and see if that does anything.
