I'm getting this error message from MSE "security essentials couldn't check for virus and spyware definition updates. check your Internet or network connection and try again" when there is nothing wrong with the connection. So, since I have all these AVs from removing SPP, I scanned the computer with all the mentioned products and found nothing. Is this an MSE problem or are there still malware on the machine? Edit: Error code: 0x80070422 Error descrp: SE can't start the update service because it's been turned off by the security administrator or because of a problem with the registry data. Okay now I have a feeling it's because of all the other anti-virus programs... Nope it's not, nvm. Edit2: Unowhat I just did system restore instead.... although it would be nice to know what happened there.
