Since sometime late November, using Chrome, very often, when I try to right-click to open something in a new window, I get a full-screen pop-up (my pop-up killer is active...I think) trying to tell me that my Flash is out of date, or Amazon has a great deal for me, or, when trying to use Google search, a "Secure Search" bar appears, and/or, instead of Google, a Bing bar opens up. I've had some instances where, when I try to access a secure website, the lock icon changes, and a message appears that says the site is not secure, and someone may be able to gain access to my data. Frustrating is not the word.
I've tried all the usual remedies: tried to uninstall programs (can't see anything odd), delete apps and extensions (I have none),searched for "how to remove Bing," etc.
The only program that seems odd is my Microsoft Office 2013. When I look at the programs listed (on the uninstall page), it shows that it was installed in November 2016, but I'v had it for over 3 years. I'm afraid to uninstall that, since I no longer have the disc to reinstall it, if I had to.
I saw the steps to remove malware on the site, and checked the site out, before deciding I should become a member, and talk with people who know a lot more about this than I do.
Hope y'all can help!
Paul
